What to know before you go
- Phi Phi Islands are located in the Andaman Sea about 42 km from Krabi’s mainland and are part of Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. The main inhabited island is Ko Phi Phi Don, while Ko Phi Phi Le is best known for Maya Bay and scenic boat stops.
- For solo travelers, the islands are easy to enjoy independently, but the biggest savings come from booking ferries or longtail boats in advance, visiting early in the morning, and avoiding peak tour hours. Maya Bay and nearby coves can be crowded, so a sunrise or first-boat visit is the smartest way to get better photos and a calmer experience.
