    Overview

A traditional floating fishing village on Hon Mieu Island where visitors can tour live seafood cages and eat lobster, grouper, and crab fresh from the ocean at floating restaurants.

The Hon Mieu Fishing Village is Nha Trang Bay's most visited traditional fishing community, located on Hon Mieu Island just 15 minutes by boat from the city. The village centers on an extensive system of floating fish and seafood farms raising lobsters, grouper, sea crab, squid, spotted babylon snails, and more in open-water cages. Visitors can tour the floating platforms to watch the aquaculture operation, try hauling fishing nets, and then enjoy a seafood feast cooked to order at the floating restaurants right on the water. The experience combines authentic coastal culture with some of the freshest seafood in Vietnam.

What to know before you go

    • Hon Mieu Fishing Village is the main stop on the popular Nha Trang 3-island boat tour. The floating fish farm platforms hold live lobsters, grouper, crab, sea snails, and squid in cages, all available for purchase and cooking.
    • Visitors can walk the floating platforms to watch fishermen tend their cages and learn about the aquaculture methods passed down through generations. The experience connects urban tourists directly to Nha Trang's deep fishing heritage.
    • The floating restaurant serves seafood cooked to order — grilled, steamed, or in hot pot style — with the bay views and salt air making the meal unforgettable. Prices are by weight (market rate) and higher than shore restaurants, but the freshness and setting justify it.
