Origin & history
Bò nhúng dấm has southern Vietnamese origins — popularized in the Mekong Delta — but was embraced by Hanoi's dining scene and adapted to northern tastes with a lighter, more aromatic broth. It became a staple family and group dining dish in Hanoi restaurants from the 1990s onward.
How to order & pay
Ask for bánh tráng mỏi (soft rice paper) for wrapping. The dipping sauce choice between mắm nếu (fermented shrimp) and tương hải sản (hoisin) is personal — try both.
