What to know before you go
- Lo Lo Chai is home to around 100 households of the Black Lo Lo ethnic group, one of Vietnam's smallest ethnic minorities. The village has maintained its traditional architecture — houses built with yin-yang clay tiles and surrounded by stone fences — for generations.
- In 2025, UNWTO named Lo Lo Chai one of the world's Best Tourism Villages, recognizing its success in developing community-based tourism while preserving cultural identity. Many households now operate homestays with views toward the Lung Cu flagpole.
- The village sits at around 1,400m elevation, surrounded by terraced fields and dramatic karst peaks. It is typically visited in combination with the Lung Cu Flag Tower, just 1km away.
