What to know before you go

    • Ngo 224 Le Duan is a narrow residential alley where everyday life unfolds alongside an active railway. Locals hang laundry, run small businesses, and go about their day while trains pass through twice daily on the Reunification Express line.
    • The cafes along the alley set up chairs and tables close to the tracks, then quickly clear them about 5 minutes before each train arrives. Staff instruct visitors to stand close to the walls. The ritual of clearing and resetting has become part of the experience.
    • This section is generally more accessible and less policed than the Old Quarter stretch, making it a preferred spot for visitors who want a genuine train street encounter without navigating barricades. It is about a 25-minute walk south from Hoan Kiem Lake.
